ABSTRACT
Series of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole imine derivatives (3a-h) were synthesized by condensation of chalcones with 5-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine in the presence of ethanol. The structure of synthesized compounds has been characterized by spectral data, elemental analysis. All successfully synthesized compounds have been screened for their Anti-bacterial and Anthelminthic activity. 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole imine have shown significant antibacterial and anthelminthic activity. Among all the 3b and 3f derivatives have shown potent antibacterial activity at both concentrations 50μg/ml and 100μg/ml as compared to standard. In vitro anthelminthic activity done by taking Indian earthworm’s pheretima posthuma. Compound 3b, 3f and 3h showed maximum activity when compared with the standard.
Keywords: Chalcones, thiadiazoles, imines, antibacterial, anthelminthic.
