A CASE STUDY - MANAGEMENT OF RAKTA DUSTIJYANNYA TWAK VIKARA

ABSTRACT

Since ancient times, Acharyas have focused on concept of nidan parivarjan, jalauka avacharan and Shaman Chikitsa. They have included bloodletting procedures under fine biopurification procedures stating that the removal of impure blood from the body treats the root cause of the sufferings. Acharya Sushrut has considered Raktamokshana as Shodhan Chikitsa. Raktamokshana includes Pracchana, Shringa, Aalabu and Jalauka.[1] Jalauka is for localized area, where it sucks vitiated blood and does the sthanika shodhana. Jalauka-avacharan is highly recommend for Sukumar vyakti.[2][3] Rakta Dustijanya Twak Vikara includes Pidika erupted on skin.[4] The pidikas which causes disfigurement of face are called as Mukhadusika. They occurs mostly in youth so called as Yuwan pidika. Everyone is very cautious about beauty, and face is mirror of state of mind so its important to pay attention to this part. So, the pidikas over skin of face area is a burning problem in youngsters. Jalauka-avacharn is a simple, painless and cost-effective procedure. In association with Nidan parivarjana and Shaman Chikitsa it is the effective treatment on Rakta Dustijanya Twak Vikar.
