DEPRESSION: OVERVIEW ON ORIGIN, BIOMOLECULE’S INVOLVED & COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES

ABSTRACT
Mental disorders are one of the concern topics worldwide. Depression one of the mental disorder which originates bunch of symptoms‟ which troubles individuals life and produce harmful impact on behavioral as well as physiological changes. Recent worldwide prevalence report shows more than 264 million people undergo depression state, in which women‟s are more affected than men. Several factors act in development of depression. The data represents number of possible hypothesis like interruption in molecular mechanisms and contributing etiological factors responsible to promote depression state. Also disturbance in physiological pathways, defect in messenger synthesis process, damage related to external stressors like (oxidative stress), and disturbance at genetic basis. The limited effects of currently available antidepressants are becoming a crucial issue in depression due to only its symptomatic managements. Population turns towards to alternatives and complementary therapies to promote synergistic therapeutic efficacy of currently use medication and also minimize related adverse events. Current scenario of increase demand and use of different alternative and complementary therapies is seen in society.
