ABSTRACT
Violence against doctors is on the rise all over the world. India is the second most populous country in the world. On an average, this country has 1 doctor to every 1700 patients. Over 75% of doctors across country are reported to have faced at least some form of violence. There is a law to protect doctors from assault but this is why it doesn’t work. My aim to assess based on the facts that the act is not successful enough. To find out the reasons behind the low success rate of the act. To conduct survey of different professional persons for knowing their opinion. Materials is Statistical data of crime against doctors available on web portals Articles published in various journals, newspapers, scientific journals etc. The acts, bill and questionnaire for study. Observation were noted from data collected from Pending and disposal cases of POV&D or LOP Act 2010, from year 2015-2019 and survey by Questionnaire. So, the conclusion is Incidences of violent attacks against healthcare workers are increasing exponentially. Many people are not aware about any law against violence on doctors, apply strict law or Prevention of violence and damage of property act 2010 needs amendment.
