ABSTRACT

Nyctanthes arbor-tristis Linn. is commonly known as night jasmine or Parijat. The plant is a member of Oleaceae family. The shrub is naturally found in the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world. Although it is known as an ornamental shrub, it is rich in medicinal values and pharmacological properties. This review article has included all the possible details about the plant, its distribution, phytochemical constituents and pharmacological activities.
