PERSPECTIVE AND KNOWLEDGE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT ABOUT USING MEDICINES

ABSTRACT
Elementary school student’s knowledge about using medicine was reported low, so that awareness of medicine side effects is important in conveying information about medicines to the student and the indicator of self-medicated quality with the greatest correlation is the indicator of the accuracy of the dose of the medicine used. This shows that knowledge about medicine can actually have an effect on student's self-medicated behavior. This study examines the scientific literature related to student’s knowledge of medicine in elementary schools in various countries from 1999-2019. In making this review article, the authors collected literature related to elementary school student’s knowledge about medicine collected from the Springer, PubMed, Science Direct databases with the keywords used in this article are knowledge, students, elementary schools, medicine. The results obtained in the literature study were the level of student’s knowledge of elementary school students about medicine. Literature studies conducted on 11 scientific literature show that student knowledge is generally low. The highest student knowledge was found in United Kingdom and Jordan.
