ABSTRACT
Penicillium citrinum is one of the endophytic fungi found in symbiosis in plant and marine biota. It has various pharmacological effects. This review presents evidence in the literature on 2010-2020 about potential bioactive antibacterial, cytotoxic, and antioxidants of endophytic fungi P.citrinum. The bibliographic database such as NCBI, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and other trusted published papers collected from 2010-2020 used as the source of information. From the collected data, it can be concluded that the endophyte fungi P.citrinum produces many bioactive metabolites with antibacterial, cytotoxic, and antioxidant activities. It can be developed further and used as a source of new drugs.
Keywords: Antibacterial, antioxidant, cytotoxic, endophytic fungi, Penicillium citrinum.
