ABSTRACT
Leiomyosarcomas of the bladder are a highly aggressive tumours with a poor prognosis. Incidence of these tumours is 0.1% of all nonurothelial tumours. Hereby, we present a case of 17-year-old girl who was diagnosed with bladder leiomyosarcoma. The diagnosis was made based on CT scan, histopathology and immunohistochemical staining. The patient underwent radical cystectomy with ileal diversion followed by adjunct irradiation and chemotherapy. Immediate surgical intervention and treatment modalities prolonged the survival rate. Many studies suggest that surgical treatment of bladder leiomyosarcomas has good outcome.
Keywords: Leiomyosarcoma, radical cystectomy, immunohistochemical staining.
