ABSTRACT
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly prescribed medications in worldwide. NSAIDs are a group of drugs that used to reduce inflammation that played an important role in acute pain like headache, stomach ache, or flu. However, its administration carries many risks when administered as a conventional oral dosage form. Nanotechnology drug delivery, diagnosis, and drug development represent the change in medicine. Ketorolac tromethamine (KT) is an NSAID from the family of heterocyclic acetic acid derivatives. This review presents about formulation and characterization of nanoparticles of KT. The method used in this research was study of literature. The primary data was collected from official books and international journals in the last twenty years (2000-2020). The result of this review was found some formulation nanoparticles that can be used to loaded with KT such as Chitosan, Gelatin, Sodium alginate, Albumin, and Eudragit L100. The analytical method used for characterization of KT nanoparticles such as Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), Powder X-ray Diffractometric (PXRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetric (DSC) Study, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) Study, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Particle Size and Zeta potential.
Keywords: Nanoparticles, Ketorolac tromethamine, characterization.
