ABSTRACT
The present study was carried out with an objective of preparation and in vitro evaluation of Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC K100), Xanthan gum as a polymers and sodium bicarbonate and citric acid as a gas generating agents with Chlorzoxazone as a model drug. The tablets were prepared by direct compression method. The effect of polymers concentration and viscosity grades of HPMC k100 on drug release profile was evaluated. An attempt was made to formulate floating tablets of Chlorzoxazone so as to increase the Gastric Residence Time (GRT) to improve the absorption.
