ABSTRACT
Colorectal cancers have become one of the commonest cause of the death world wide with incidence of more than 1 million new cases and more than 250000 deaths annually.[1] Quality of life refers to multidimensional concept including physical and social, emotional factors Quality of life is increasingly being regarded as an important end point for cancer management. |+2Colorectal cancer and its treatment can affect the quality of life of the patients in varied ways. They can affect the work, productive life, personal relationships, social activities and others. Advancements in therapy and early diagnosis of the disease has increased the survival rate.[3] Multimodality approach is the preferred modality in the management. Since ages abdomino perineal resection is the most preferred surgical method. With recent advances, like rectal anastomosis laparoscopy and use of staplers, anterior resection with preservation of sphincter function has become the most preferred method now.[3]
