ABSTRACT
Carbon nanotubes are interesting cylindrical structures of nanometer width and enormous length/measurement proportion. The nanotubes may comprise of one up to tens and several concentric shells of carbons with adjoining shells division of around 0.34nm.The carbon organization of the shells is firmly identified with the honeycomb game plan of the carbon atoms. The astounding mechanical and electronic properties of the nanotubes stem in their semi one dimensional (1D) structure and the graphite-like course of action of the carbon iotas in the shells thus, the nanotubes have high Young's modulus and elasticity, which makes them ideal for composite materials with improved mechanical properties. The nanotubes can be metallic or semiconducting relying upon their underlying boundaries. This opens the ways for utilization of the nanotubes as focal components in electronic gadgets including field-impact semiconductors (FET), single-electron semiconductors and redressing diodes. Opportunities for utilizing of the nanotubes as high-limit hydrogen stockpiling media were additionally thought of. This report is planned to sum up a portion of the significant accomplishments in the field of the carbon nanotube research both trial and hypothetical in association with the conceivable mechanical utilizations of the nanotubes.
