ABSTRACT

Shampoo is a cosmetic and the most common form of hair treatment. Shampoos are primarily been products objective to cleansing the hair and scalp. In the present reviews, it seems improbable that herbal shampoo, although better in performance and safer than the synthetic ones, will be popular with the consumers.1 Shampoos are products which remove dirt and surface grease from the scalp and hair shaft. The primary functions of shampoo are detergent action and cleansing of hair as well as skin. Although, the foaming characteristic of a shampoo has an most important role and increase its acceptability in cosmetic product.2 Synthetic detergents and preservatives sometimes been cause of adverse effect among consumers. Basically, Alkanolamides are used for the formation of stable foam; but they producing nitrosamines, which is potentially carcinogenic (Substance capable to producing cancers) compounds, an important task is to develop completely natural shampoo without carcinogenic compounds. Herbal cosmetics are now emerged as the appropriate solution to the current problem, natural product are fancy in cosmetics and about 1000 variety of plant extract have been examined with respect to hair fall prevent and hair growth still it is a fast growing segment with a vast scope of manifold expansion in coming years 4 Black soil based shampoo is a best natural shampoo This herbal shampoo is formulated using natural ingredient like Azadirachta indica(neem), Acacia concinna (shikakai), Spindus mokorossi(reetha), ocimumsanctum (Tulsi), Aloevera (aloe), Embelicaofficinlis (amla), lawsoniainerms (Henna), black soil. At Iran Acanthophyllum endemic have 23 species of the genus the Acanthophyllum squarrosum is one of the 23 species due to the presence of saponin in its root, chubak, has been used traditionally as a detergent5 In this review the main focus is elimination of these materials from shampoo formulations.
