ABSTRACT
The present study was carried out to investigate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of aqueous and methanol leaf extract of Aegle marmelos against 3 bacterial species viz., Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and one fungal species Candida albicans. Antibacterial assay was performed by disc diffusion method. The zones of inhibition was found to be between 7 mm to 14 mm at 50 mg/mL, 75 mg/mL, 100 mg/mL leaf extract concentrations. Methanol leaf extract showed potential inhibitory activity compared to aqueous leaf extract. The inhibitory activity was dose dependent.
