Abstract

TO STUDY DESIGNED AND PHYTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF CRYPTOSTEGIA GRANDIFLORA LINN ROXB. EXTRACT

ABSTRACT

Leaves of Cryptostegia grandiflora have been used in India in the form of powder. So this study is designed to explore the antioxidant of Cryptostegia grandiflora. Leaves were subjected to successive extraction using pet ether, chloroform and methanol to obtain respective extracts. DMSO, DPPH free radical scavenging method was used for activity analysis. Qualitative phytochemical analysis of methanol extracts of leaves of Cryptostegia grandiflora showed the presence of cardiac and saponins glycosides, tannins, flavonoids, proteins. Plant extract is showed potential antioxidant activity. Dibenzoxazepine is responsible for antioxidant activity.
