ABSTRACT
A simple, sensitive, rapid, economic and accurate first order derivative spectrophotometric method has been developed for estimation of Metoprolol succinate (MET), Cilnidipine (CIL) and Telmisartan (TEL) and in bulk and in tablet dosage form. The wavelengths selected for quantitation were 216 nm for MET (zero cross for Cilnidipine but Telmisartan shows absorbance), 252 nm for Cilnidipine (zero cross for Metoprolol Succinate and Telmisartan) and 243 nm for Telmisartan (zero cross for Metoprolol Succinate and Cilnidipine). Beer’s law was obeyed in the concentration range of 11.8-59 μg/ ml, 5-25 μg/ ml and 20-100 μg/ ml for MET, CIL and TEL. The methods were validated as per ICH guidelines. Statistical analysis proved that the methods were accurate, precise, and reproducible for analysis of MET, CIL and TEL
in tablet dosage form. The wide linearity range, sensitivity, accuracy and simple procedure imply that the proposed technique demonstrated to be appropriate for routine analysis and quality control assay of tablet.
