Abstract

DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

Nowadays, major role in pharmaceutical industries is the development of new drug delivery systems. In last years and in recent times, the drug delivery practices has been altered and advanced. Current medical practices is influenced by newer drug delivery technology. Bioavailability, efficacy, safety can positively change by new drug delivery systems.[1] The method or process of administering a pharmaceutical compound to achieve a therapeutic effect in humans or animals is a drug delivery. The route of drug for diagnosis, prevention, cure or treatment of various diseases and disorder drug is administered by a particular path of administration. Therapeutic effect, it must come in contact with tissues of organs and cells of tissues by one way or other, and for this to take place the drug must be administerd in the appropriate manner. The route of administration of a medication directly affects the drug bioavailabilty, which determines both the onset and the duration of pharmacological effect. Nasal and pulmonary routes of drug delivery are gaining increasing importance for the treatment of human diseases.[2]
