UNDERSTANDING OF VARICOSE VEIN AND ITS MANAGEMENT THROUGH AYURVEDA: A REVIEW ARTICLE

ABSTRACT
Varicose vein is a type of peripheral vascular disease or venous disease. Varicose vein are thin walled, tortuous, dilated, enlarged veins near the surface of skin. It is most commonly appear in long standing people like Rickshaw, watchmen, police, older people, and obese. It occurs due to weakness and incompetency of valvular mechanism. It is more commonly present in superficial veins of lower limb. Varicose vein is not a severe medical condition in early stage its only a cosmetic impairment but, continues pain causes disturbance in daily routine life. Currently available treatment in modern system provides symptomatic relief for pain, edema, heaviness of the leg and other surgical
procedures also have a secondary complication after surgery. In Ayurveda according to sing and symptoms it can be correlate with Sirajgranthi, Siragata kupit vata, or sira kunchna. There are many medicines and Panchkarma therapies in Ayurveda which we can use in venous disease which are very beneficial ,which have no side effects .such as panchkarma therapy like Snehna, Sawedna, Raktamokshana , Virechana Karma, etc.and in ayurvedic herbal medicines like Kachnar guggulu, Nimbadi Guggulu which reduces the sing and symptoms of the disease.
