ABSTRACT
Summary: Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a rare, benign chronic inflammatory condition of the breast that affects mostly young women, with an unknown etiology.[1] It has no specific features and can mimic breast cancer. Histology is the key to confirm the diagnosis.[2,3] Treatment is based on corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, antibiotics and surgical excision with various outcomes.[4] The recurrences are a characteristic clinical course of the disease.[5]
