DIET AND NUTRITIONAL GUIDELINE FOR KAMPAVATA (PARKINSON'S DISEASE)

ABSTRACT

For this purpose Caraka stated that (Ca Su. 25/33) ideal diet should reconstruct the worn out system and nourish the Dhatus and sustain the equilibrium of the body constituents. Irrational diet acts otherwise and produces diseases. The view of Kasayapa circumstances that the health depending on the Ahara and the Ahara-sevanavidhi. If the food is consumed according to dietetic regulation. It shelters health otherwise it manifests in disease. Acarayas have explicated some classification dietetic articles, which are expedient in Vatavyadhi. Kampavata (Parkinson’s Disease) is a syndrome consisting of variable amalgamation of Kampa (tremor), Stambha (rigidity), chestsanga(Bradykinesia) and a distinctive disturbance of gait and posture. Kampavata (Parkinson’s disease) generally begins in middle or late life and leads to progressive disability with time disease occur in all ethnic group has similarly sex distribution.[1] In CharakSamhitaVepathu has been described as one of the eight types of Nanatmajadisorder of Vata and Kampahas been mentioned as one of Vikaraof Vata.[2] Basavarajiyam has designated a clinical object known as Kampavata which resembles with the description of Parkinson’s diseases.[3] As Kampavata is one of Nanatmaja disorders of Vata so far these dietetic articles may be useful for Kampavata. Eat healthy foods; use plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, cereals, legumes, low fat dairy products. A balanced nutrition is significant for everyone and particularly it theaters a major role Parkinson’s disease (PD). In general, a healthy diet can rise energy, maximize the potential of medications, and stimulate overall wellbeing. A single diet arrangement cannot treat Parkinson’s disease or its symptoms, but a healthy and balanced diet can expand general well-being. Eating fruits and vegetables may assistance to keep energized and hydrated. Fiber-rich foods and fluids may ease symptoms of constipation or low blood pressure. The diet may have important impact on the medication regimen. Adjusting the timing and composition of meals might allow medications to work better and better to avoid specific foods to prevent side effects.
