ABSTRACT
Carisoprodol is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant. It has been tried for various muscular skeletal disorders, pain symptoms and spasmodic conditions. It is used as an assistant in the Pain is a common bodily sign in patients with musculoskeletal problems. Carisoprodol do not absorbs UV light due to lack of Chromophores and Auxocromes. Hence it is not detectable by UV spectrophotometry. DSC thermogram of Carisoprodol was carried out using Mettler Toledo. DSC thermogram of Carisoprodol is shows melting starts at 195.040C and ends at 205.500C. It gives sharp peak at 199.490C. The peaks observed in GC-MS spectra indicates that drug sample is in pure form. Also
results obtained from NMR, FTIR and DSC shows our drug is in thepure form there is no presence of impurity in it. Results from this study provide important information and data on Carisoprodol drug.
