ABSTRACT
Adrenaline (Epinephrine) and nor-adrenaline (nor-epinephrine) are
major endogenous catecholamines which are known as
neurotransmitters. This work provides a new simple, accurate, precise
and reproducible an analytical method developed for the simultaneous
biogenic amine quantification of adrenaline and nor-adrenaline.
Chromatographic techniques are changing with improvements in
sample preparation procedures, column technology and more specific
analyte detection using tandem mass spectrometry. An assay of noradrenaline,
adrenaline based on high-performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC).The related substances were resolved on a
Eurospher 100-5 C18 column (150mm × 4.6 mm, 5μm) using a mobile
phase composed of a mixture of formic acid and 50mM ammonium formate buffer pH 3.0 at
a flow rate of 0.8ml/min with UV detector at 266 nm. The method is compatible with HPLCMS
and provides a tool for the control of substandard and counterfeit commercial
preparations of the adrenaline and nor-adrenaline.
