EFFICACY OF AMALAKI (PHYLLANTHUS EMBLICA) LEPA IN PADADARI (CRACKED FOOT) – A PILOT STUDY

ABSTRACT
Padadari or cracked foot is a very common cosmetic problem and is explained as a Kshudraroga in Sushruta Samhita. It can affect anyone irrespective of age and sex. Various treatment principles explained in Ayurveda and Padalepa is one among that which is very effective to reduce padadari. In the present study 7 patients were selected and treated with external application of Amalaki churna along with ghrita. The symptoms like pain, dryness, roughness, depth of cracks and bleeding were assessed before treatment, after treatment and after follow up period. The study clearly indicated significant reduction of all symptoms.
