A COMPARATIVE PHARMACEUTICO ANALYTICAL STUDY OF HARIDRA GHRITA MADE OF GOGHRITA AND MAHISHA GHRITA

ABSTRACT

Haridra ghrita is a herbal preparation mentioned in Chakradatta, Bhaishaja Ratnavalli, Astanga Sangraha, Charaka Samhita, Yogaratnakara, Vangasena and Gadanigraha. It is mentioned under the treatment of pandu roga adhikara. Here an attempt was made to find out the difference between the ghrita made of mahisha ghrita, mahisha dugda and other sample using goghrita, godugda. According to ayurveda “Go” is considered to be “Shresta”. But in this formulation mahisha ghrita and dugda are been advised for the preparation. After the preparation analytical study was conducted for all the samples prepared.
