CRITICAL REVIEW ON MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE (MSG) AND ITS SIDE EFFECTS ON HEALTH W.S.R. GARAVISHA

ABSTRACT
Every living organism needs food to live. Food have many nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins or minerals. In present time people have become dependent of fast foods due to busy schedule of life. The food has limited shelf life., in order to increase the shelf life and maintain the quality and taste certain artificial preservatives are used. In many of the fast foods Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is added to increase their flavour. Human society is unaware of the diseases arising from the use of MSG. The symptoms of garavisha mentioned in Ayurveda are similar to the side effects of MSG. By using this concept, and relation between garavisha and MSG which will be beneficial for Ayurveda scholars in managing the side effects caused by it and also to create an awareness among the society as well.
