ABSTRACT
A study of antihypertensive effect of Cassytha filiformis L aqueous fraction on hypertensive hypercholesterolemic rats have been carried out. Aqueous fraction of C. filiformis was administered to the hypertensive and hypercholesterolemia (induced by prednisone - NaCl and cocktail atherogenic simultaneously for 21 days) at the doses of 20, 40 and 80 mg/kg of the body weight for 1, 3, 7, and 14 days. The indirect systolic, diastolic, mean arterial, and the heart rate of ther at were measured (CODA). Data is presented as the % mean of reduction. Data of the research were analyzed by the two-wayANOVA followed by Duncan multiple T test with a level of confidence of 95%. The results showed that the aqueous fraction of C. filiformis reduced all parameters significantly (P<0.05). There was no interactions effect of dose and the duration of fraction administration to and parameters (P>0,05) these data indicated that the aqueous fraction of C. filiformis produced blood pressure lowering effect in hypertensive-hypercholesterolemic rats.
