SURVEY OF LIPID PROFILE IN MARASMIC CHILDREN WHO WERE ADMITTED TO KERBALA TEACHING HOSPITAL IN KERBALA CITY IN IRAQ 2019

ABSTRACT
Prospective clinical study was conducted to estimate the lipid profile in marasmic children who were admitted into Kerbala teaching hospital in Kerbala city in the period between first march to 31 july 2019 and to make comparism of the results with control group with same age 50 pts with marasmus with same number 50 well nourished children in the same ages and sexes included in this study All marasmic babies were full term at birth and birth wt 2.5 kg and more. The study reveals that (total cholesterol-LDL –HDL-) serum levels for all age groups Of the marasmic children was low in compares with the levels of control group by statistically significant difference While T.G serum level of the patients appear to be higher than the levels of the control group with the same age group. With no significant difference statistically. While (VLDL) show lower level in marasmic group but with Statistically no significant difference.
