ABSTRACT
A spectrophotometric method is used for the evaluated of the
stoichiometry of a yellow coloured azo imine complexes at different
pH. These complexes are formed by the reactions of donor molecules
as 4-(di methyl benzylidene aniline and its substituents ortho, meta and
para hydroxy with diazotized para nitro aniline molecule as an electron
acceptor. A mole ratio method is applied to investigate the
stoichiometry of the coloured azo imine complexes which are found to
be of 1:1 types. Finally, it was concluded that stoichiometry of the
produced coloured azo imine complexes did not depend on the pH of
the medium when it is acidic, neutral and basic or at pH values 5, 7 and
9 respectively and on the hydroxyl group position of imines under
study.
