CRITICAL STUDY OF ASTHI MAJJA PACHAKA YOGA AND ITS EFFECTS ON ASTHI MAJJA PRADOSHAJA VIKARA

ABSTRACT

The Ayurvedic texts have mentioned various drugs of herbal, mineral, herbomineral or animal origin. These drugs are indicated in various indications. Charakacharya has mentioned Asthi Majja Pachaka Yoga in Jwarachikitsa Adhyaya for the treatment of Asthi Majjagata Jwara i.e. Chaturthaka Jwara. The management of Asthi Majja related diseases is unique because of the Ashrayaashrayi Sambandha of Vata Dosha and Asthi Dhatu which is fundamental base to understand any pathological conditions related to Majja Dhatu. The ingredients of Asthi Majja Pachaka Yoga will be studied for their therapeutic properties with reference to their effects on Dosha, Dhatu & Mala. These therapeutic properties will be mentioned in terms of their nearest modern day nomenclature.
