PSYCHIATRIC COMORBIDITY AND ITS IMPACT ON PATIENTS WITH COVID-19

ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the psychosocial factors associated with psychiatric comorbidity in study population during COVID-19 lockdown period. Methodology: Total of 68 study subjects were included and Google form questionnaire was administered for collecting socio demographic data. Results: Positive association was determined between higher number of psychiatric comorbidities and severity of depressive symptoms in 19.1% population strongly agreed the mentally affected by the restricted movement. The 30.9 % of population were mentally affected by the Spread of covid-19. And 8.5% were replied the Unavailability of alcohol not affects their
lifestyle. Majority of the population have ability to tolerate the consequences of Lock down like restricted movements. The recent stressful life events explains the variability in psychiatric comorbidities. Conclusions: A spread of pandemic disease increases the prevalence of psychiatric comorbidity among study populations. The restricted movement, unemployment and poor economic conditions make depression state. Hence, there was an urgent need to eradication of Pandemic disease COVID-19 related morbidities by Pharmacist telecounselling by means of Communication devices.
