THE IN-VITRO ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF THE LEAVES OF AZADIRCHTA INDICA AND CASSIA FISTULA

ABSTRACT
Cassia fistula L. belongs family leguminosae and contains sennosidesA and B, rhein and its glucoside, barbaloin, aloin, formic acid, butyricacid, their ethyl esters and oxalic acid, sap, acetyl acid, iod,thiocyanogen and unsapon matter, tannins, phlobaphenes, reducingsugars and oxyanthraquinones & Neem is an evergreen of the tropicsand sub-tropics. It belongs to the family Meliaccae and is a cousin ofthe Chinaberry. With an extensive and deep root system, the hardyNeem can grow luxuriantly even in marginal and leached soils, andthrives up to an elevation of 1500m. In the present study,Hydroalcholic extracts of the leacves of, Azadirchta indica & Cassia fistula was investigatedfor its antioxidant and activity. Antioxidant activity was determined in vitro by DPPH &NOS .
