Dr. Nidhin Mohan* and Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta
ABSTRACT
Ayurveda plays a vital role in the management of Arsha. The Chikitsa in Ayurveda is done by Nidana Parivarjana and Samprapti vighatana. Many treatment modalities are explained in Ayurvedic classics for the management of Arsha including Kshara karma, Agni karma, Shastra prayoga, Bheshaja karma, etc. Bheshaja karma and Pathya Ahara have more importance because the main cause of Arsha roga is Jatharagni mandhya which leads to Tridosha vitiation. The only option for Agnivriddhi is by the usage of appropriate useful Dravyas. Takra is one such Dravya having Agni deepana and Tridosha shamana property, and which can be used as both Oushadha and Ahara. It is also said that chances of re-occurance of Arsha treated with Takra is
very rare.
