ABSTRACT
We are using anaerobic source of energy in our daily life for using oxygen and it forms a toxic product called free radicals. All of these cause severe cellular DNA damage, different types of health disorders like atherosclerosis, heart diseases interfere with cell replication, the only defense against free radicals are antioxidants. It has the ability to destroy free radicals. The free radicals are formed by the metabolism of oxygen, body or from the external sources. Free radicals are the chemical species that possess unpaired electron in the outer shell of the molecule, this cause the free radicals are become highly reactive and it reacts with protein, lipids, carbohydrates and DNA. The human bodies have several mechanisms to counteract effect against oxidative stress
by producing antioxidants. According to thermal cancer therapy due to the high concentration and the wide variety of antioxidant such as resveratrol, genestein, beicalein, vitamin A, vitamin C, curcumin, and many other type of compounds with the ability to inhibit cell proliferation of different cancer cells in vitro, such as colon cancer, breast, cervix, liver, skin and other malignant cell ; studies indicated that antioxidant can be used efficiently as chemo preventives and as effective inhibitors of cell proliferation, promoting cell apoptosis and increasing detoxification enzymes and inhibiting gene expression and reactive oxygen species [ROS]. Antioxidants such as vitamin- C and vitamin- E boost our immune system. The fruits,
Keywords: vegetables and other foods that contain antioxidants that helps to fight cardiovascular diseases. Antioxidant lowers the level of LDL –cholesterol, thus preventing plaque. It protects the cell and organ system of the body against reactive oxygen species.
