SYNTHESIS AND BIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF 1-((E)-3- (SUBSTITUTED PHENYL)ACRYLOYL)-3-PHENYL UREAS AS POTENT SMOOTH MUSCLE RELAXANT

ABSTRACT

This research work involves the synthesis of a series of novel substituted phenyl acryloyl-3-phenyl urea derivatives (3a-3e) which were further tested for smooth muscle relaxant activity using Rotarod Apparatus and using a CNS Tranquilizer as standard. Result revealed that all the compounds show significant smooth muscle relaxant activity as compared to standard. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by using IR, 1H-NMR, and Mass spectral analysis.
