MANAGEMENT OF DADRU KUSHTA WSR TINEA CORPORIS BY AN AYURVEDIC REGIMEN- A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Skin is a sensory organ with touch, pain, temperature, pressure as its subjects. It is most affected by fungal infections. According to modern science the fungal infections caused by dermatophytes are called as dermatophytosis while tinea refers to worm in Latin. Tinea infection presents with circular, erythematous skin lesions with elevated edges. Tinea infections contributes about 10-20 % of overall skin diseases. On the basis of clinical symptoms, tinea simulates with dadru kustha. In the present study, a case of dadru kustha vis-à-vis tinea corporis was been treated with an ayurvedic regimen of anubhuta krimighnabasti yog [vyatysaat] along with local application of gandhak malhara. After 8 days of treatment, significant improvement was been observed in
parameters like kandu (itching), daha (burning sensation), rookshata (dryness), raga (erythema), pidika (eruptions)and utsaana mandala (elevated circular skin lesion).
