ABSTRACT
Aparaajita is a well known herb since the most primitive works on Ayurveda have its therapeutic uses well elaborated and its morphological features well described. Later on, controversies erupt as locals in different parts of India used different plant species in the name of Aparaajita. Mainly four different plant species are considered in the name Aparajita across India. These are Convolvulus pluricaulis, Clitorea ternatea, Evolvulus alsenoides and Canscora decussata. Ayurvedic system of medicine is a well-known and oldest system of medicine being used centuries in India. In this system, plants with medicinal properties are used for various ailments and may be a source
of drugs. Clitoria ternatea Linn. is well known Ayurvedic medicine used for the treatment of various diseases.
