OVERVIEW OF THE TRADITIONAL, PHYTOCHEMICAL, AND PHARMACOLOGICAL USES OF GOLD BAMBOO (BAMBUSA VULGARIS)

ABSTRACT
Many herbal medicines have been used in various medical systems for the treatment and management of various diseases. Gold bamboo shoots (Bambusa vulgaris) have high nutritional value, so they can be a good source of food. Gold bamboo plants have been used in various traditional treatment systems for the treatment of various diseases in humans. Phytochemically this plant has been reported to contain carbohydrates, glycosides, saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics and tannins, phytosterols, and triterpenoids, oils, and fats. Ethnopharmacologically, gold bamboo has been used as a drug for malaria and diabetes. Pharmacologically this plant has been reported to
have analgesic, antipyretic, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiviral, anti-kidney stone, hepatoprotective activity, diuretic, abortifacients, anti-anxiety, and renal disorder activities.
