A CLINICAL STUDY ON GUDA-HARITAKYADI MODAK IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KAPHAJA KASA

ABSTRACT
Respiratory ailments are a leading clinical presentation in the coastal area with a high prevalence rate in konkan area of the maharastra, which can be attributed to the arid climate and food habits. Kasa is one of the most common ailments afflicting the Pranavaha Srotas. Kaphaja Kasa has been considered to be the cutting edge of the Doshic type of Kasa, which if neglected or mismanaged, may serve as the substratum for the emergence of a good number of disorders which are very difficult to manage such as Kshataja Kasa, and Tamaka Swasa etc. The effect of Guda-Hareetakyadi Modak in the management of Kaphaja Kasa was observed by administering the drug in a group of 30 patients with the aid of clinical and Hematological parameters over a span of 15 days. The clinical study shows statistically highly significant results in reduction of clinical symptoms of Kaphaja Kasa giving a conclusion that Guda-Hareetakyadi Modaka is an effective treatment for Kaphaja Kasa with no evidence of adverse effect.
