Abstract

ASSESSMENT OF IRON DEFICIENCY ANAEMIA AMONG 13-18 YEARS OF ADOLESCENT GIRLS OF KANPUR CITY

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out with the objective to find out the "Assessment of iron deficiency anaemia among 13-18 years of adolescent girls of Kanpur city” In this research select the 30 adolescent girls (13-18 years) were selected through the random sampling method from Kanpur (U.P.). In this study data was collected to the food frequency, socio-demographic profile and clinical assessment and find out the 26.66 per cent were normal weight, 66.6 per cent respondent does not consult gynaecologist. Consumption of confectionary 1-2 time/week was seen in 16.66 per cent in 13-15 years of age group and 23.33 per cent in 15-18 years age group than the other time. Only 10 per cent preferred restaurant meals in 13-15 years of age group and 26.66 per cent preferred restaurant meals in 15-18 years of age group out of 30 respondents. Nail colour was seen in 63.33 per cent pale yellow, Shortness of breath present in 53.33 per cent, 60 per cent respondent present weakness. Adolescent girls needed to improve the diet and avoid fast food
