ABSTRACT
Kukkutanda or hen’s egg is a commonly used food material. Kukkutandatwak or eggshell has been used for therapeutic purposes in Bhasma (Ash) form which is popularly known as Kukkutandatwak Bhasma. It is included under Sudha Varga as it contains Calcium compound. Literary review of earlier research works on Kukkutandatwak Bhasma reveals two different Bhavana (Impregnation) dravya (Drugs) being used for the purpose of its Marana (Incineration). Both of these Bhasma samples prepared as per the textual reference with Changeri Swarasa (Juice of Oxalis corniculata) and Ghritakumari Swarasa (Juice of Aloevera). Both the samples i.e., Changeri bhavita and Ghritakumari bhavita Kukkutandatwak Bhasma were analysed for evaluating the differences in their physico-chemical characters.
