MIGRATORY IUD: CASE REPORT AND REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

ABSTRACT
The placement of an intrauterine device is a common gesture in gynecological practice. However, it is not harmless and the occurrence of uterine perforation can be serious. Pelvic pain is the main symptom. Fifteen percent of the perforations would cause injury to a neighboring organ. Faced with a suspected ectopic IUD, pelvic ultrasound is the first line examination. If the IUD is not displayed, unprepared abdomen radiography (ASP) is required. The removal of ectopic intrauterine devices is recommended. From a migration observation intra abdominal IUD, the authors review the literature on intrauterine devices migration intra-abdominal and their complications.
