ABSTRACT
The paper presents the synthesis of complex combinations of Co(II), Ni (II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd (II) with Schiff base obtained by the condensation reaction of 4- aminoantipyrine with Vanilline and Serine amino acid. Complexes have been synthesized via direct reactions of ligand with metal ions in molar ratio (1:2) (Metal: Ligand) respectively These complexes have been characterized via variety physiochemical technique includes Infrared (IR), 1HNMR, (U.V-Vis), magnetic moment measurement, molar conductance, elemental (C.H.N), Thermal Gravity analysis (TGA), SEM, Powder X-ray diffraction, and computational study theoretical calculations. spectral studies Infrared data reported that the ligand behave as tridentate ligand and coordinated through (N, N, O) as adonor atoms sequence towards the metal ions, consequently all the complexes showed an octahedral shapes. Finally The synthesized Shiffbase and metal complexes were screened for their biological activity against bacterial species, one Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) and three Gram negative bacteria Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aereuguinosa and Klebsiella pneumoniaea. and, it was found that these compounds show different activity of inhibition on the growth of the bacteria,
Keywords: Serine, Vanilline, 4-amino antipyrine complexes.
