ABSTRACT
The pheochomocytoma and pregnancy is an extremely rare combination. The pheochromocytoma in pregnant women is often mistaken with gestationnal hypertension and is always a severe life threatening disease. The diagnosis is easy to establish with biochemical testing and imaging. A proper multidisciplinary presurgical preparation is mandatory in all pregnant women with pheochromocytoma, consisting of obstetrician, paediatrician, endocrine surgeon and anaesthetist. The objectif of this case report is that any pregnant woman with hypertension, especially if its difficult to control, non associated with proteinuria nor edemia, should induce the clinician to consider the possibility of a pheochromocytoma.
