PROCEDURE PLANNING AND PROTOCOLS FOR POLIO ERADICATION AND CONVINCING REFUSAL POPULATION BY MODERN COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY IN ONE DISTRICT OF PAKISTAN

ABSTRACT
Background: Poliomyelitis is endemic in Pakistan, Nigeria and Afghanistan rest of the world has eliminated the polio virus from its environment.[1] The study is based on the surveys its challenges in immunization and the way forward to overcome these challenges. The researcher took Lakki Marwat district. Lakki Marwat district is a part of Khyber Pakhtun khwa province of Pakistan. The researcher took 20 union council as sample size to know about the aptitude of whole population. Methods: A team was made consisting of four enumerators and two community mobilizers and a team leader. Survey enumerator worked on the survey, while community mobilizers educated the society about vaccination. Medical camps were arranged for the
process of vaccination with trained persons EPI technicians and other trained staff were arranged along with the necessary inactivated polio vaccine, oral polio vaccines and essential medicines. Results: Results were based on the basic reproductive number Ro, the calculation of the thresh hold herd immunity. Hypothesis testing proved that more than 99 percent of the population were compliance to the polio vaccination in district Lakki Marwat. Regression line was made between the number of houses and the number of children in a cluster. The regression equation was formed by using (SPSS 21) software, Y=1.30x+22.05. Here Y represents the number of children in a cluster and x represent the number of houses in a cluster. The correlation value were 0.826. New methods were introduced to convince the refusal population by modern cognitive behavior therapy. New suggestions were given to the government for the eradication of polio.
