ABSTRACT
Olmesartan medoxomil belongs to a group of angiotensin II receptor antagonist and Hydrochlorothiazide is a selective diuretic often used in high blood pressure but the combination of these two is much more effective. This combination is recently launched. So the ultimate goal of the work is to develop and validate a simple, fast, and precise reverse phase, isocratic HPLC method for assaying Olmesartan medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide simultaneously. The process was carried out using WATERS pump model no. 510, detector 248, column cā18 –Agilent (zorabax) and T2100P (Japan). The buffer solution and solvent used are acetonitrile and phosphate buffer (60:40v/v) of pH 3. Calibration curves were linear with coefficient correlation was 0.998 and 0.999 for Olmesartan medoxomil and Hydrochlorothiazide respectively over a concentration range of 5ā25 µg/ml.
