METHOTREXATE COMPLICATING PLEURAL EFFUSION

ABSTRACT
Methotrexate is an antimetabolite which interferes with DNA synthesis. It is widely used for the treatment of benign conditions as well as malignancies. During treatment, a rare but severe side effects such as Pancytopenia, hepatotocity, renal toxicity and pulmonary toxicities can be seen. In this case, 68 year old woman diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis developed pleural effusion, mucositis and Pancytopenia.
