Regab Awad Buker* and Gaidaa Yousif Azeez
ABSTRACT
This study concerns with the treating by acetic acid and doping of naturally occuring mineral rocks by chromium (VI) oxide in ratio at 1:8, and studying their physical and structural properties. Results of powder x-ray diffraction, x-ray fluorescence, thermal analysis, infrared spectra, and technical instrumental analysis evaluated the scientific and economic utilization of those samples as adsorbents to separate karkuk crude oil petrolene into four simple components according to their polarties applying soxhelate extraction technique. Infrared, nuclear
magnetic resonance and GC/MASS techniques have been applied to study the chemical composition of the extraceted fractions of (n-hexane, toluene, chloroform and ethanol) solvents.
Keywords: Mineral rocks, Gypsum, Karkuk petrolene, Soxhlate, adsorbent.
