ABSTRACT
In the present research work, an effort has been carried out to develop a new analytical method for simultaneous estimation of Curcumin and Gallic acid in its bulk powder. UV-Visible spectrophotometric method was developed by using methanol as solvent system. Curcumin and Gallic acid displayed maximum absorbance wavelength at 422nm and 264nm respectively. As per ICH guidelines, method optimization and validation was carried out in terms of specificity, selectivity, linear range, precision, ruggedness, reproducibility, accuracy and solutions stability parameters. Curcumin and Gallic acid exhibited linear response between the concentration range of 1-6 μg/mL and 2-10 μg/mL respectively. The %RSD values for the parameters carried out were found to be less than 2%. Hence, the newly developed UV-Visible Spectrophotometric method can be employed for simultaneous estimation of Curcumin and Gallic acid in bulk drug combination.
