The Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is the major and leading cause of death and also leads to various comorbidities like hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular risk etc and the patients undergoing hemodialysis are at an increased risk of psychiatric symptoms like depression and anxiety. In this review, we compared two studies from India and Qazvin to assess the occurance of depression and anxiety in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. In study 1, the depression was mild in 91 (60.66%) patients and moderate to severe in 59 (39.34%) patients. The anxiety was mild in 139 (92.66%) patients and moderate to severe in 11 (7.34%) patients. In study 2, the depression was mild in 14 (35%) patients and moderate to severe in 26 (65%) patients. The anxiety was mild in 23 (57.5%) patients and moderate to severe in 17 (42.5%) patients.
