A REVIEW ON OCULAR DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM

ABSTRACT
Drug delivery is the method or process of administering a pharmaceutical compound to achieve a therapeutic effect in humans or animal. Ophthalmic drug delivery is one of the most interesting and challenging endeavor facing the pharmaceutical scientists. The most common route of ocular drug delivery, absorption such as corneal and non-corneal route. There are different types of barriers for ocular drug delivery is as follows lachrymal fluid barrier or blood ocular barrier. There is a wide range of ophthalmic products available in the market out of which around 70% of prescriptions include conventional eye drops. In a last few decades, many approaches have been utilized for
the treatment of ocular diseases.
